Solisto es uno de los primeros fabricantes de interfaces car audio que ofrece funcionalidad de carga para iPhone 3G[S], iPod Touch 2ª generación, iPod Nano 4ª generación.
Con estos nuevos modelos, Apple dejó de ofrecer soporte para el interfaz de carga el cual era siempre el método escogido por los interfaces de audio para automóvil para cargar la batería del iPod o iPhone. Mientras que para la funcionalidad general de Solisto.Extra y Solisto.Pro no existía ningún problema, los dispositivos listados no podían cargar la batería. Esta limitación ha sido corregida. Solisto carga la batería de todos los modelos de iPod y iPhone, de los viejos y nuevos modelos.

Análisis de Solisto en la edición de enero de la revista británica Audi Driver magazine. Tras un análisis exahustivo con un Audi A4 Cabriolet, Ann Browne escribe acerca de Solisto Classic:
“I haven’t any additional accessories to the Cabrio but, during the past year, I have had a piece of equipment on loan which has given me a great deal of listening pleasure. It is called Solisto and it allows you to play music on a memory key through the normal Audi head unit. I know that this can be done these days with an iPod if you have the appropriate lead, but the Solisto, which is made in Germany, has one particular advantage. If you organise the pieces of music into six groups after downloading them from the internet or some other source, the standard Audi head unit regards the Solisto as an additional six-disc CD player. In other words, you can use the normal controls on your Audi Chorus or Concert to select one of the six groups of music on your memory key and then to select individual pieces within that group. The display on the head unit is just the same as when a CD changer is connected. I understand that the Solisto range has been extended and now includes iPod compatible products.

When I bought the Cabriolet, I opted for the Symphony head unit. As well as providing radio and cassette play, this also has a six disc changer built into it. I enjoy listening to talking books on long journeys and the Symphony allows me to use both cassettes and CD stories.

Fitting the Solisto involved sliding out the Symphony head unit from the dashboard. It is quite big and you need a set of four special keys to do it. They go into four almost invisible slots in the front panel and allow you to pull it out. […] The Solisto itself was positioned in the glove box and its lead was passed through a hole at the top right into the space behind the Symphony. Then it was just a case of plugging it into the back of the set where you would normally fit the lead for a CD changer, and sliding the Symphony back into place. It’s a device I can thoroughly recommend and provides much more versatility than one gets with a CD changer.”
